Yield yourselves as tools of righteousness unto God

--Apostle Paul to Romans

Below are listed the course descriptions for Pastor Gregory's classes

Religion II

The Passion of God (OT Messages/NT Sermon)

Is the Love of God for us real? Is all of this just "background noise" or something more? When the human family fell, God employed a myriad of ways to tell us of His intent for us. His love is revealed in the stories of Hosea and Gomer, David, Ruth and Boaz, and Christ’s own Sermon on the Mount. What is He saying? What has He always said? What can we hear today? We will walk through these familiar passages to discover anew His incalculable love for us..

The invitation to continue the legacy extends to us today. The Seventh-day Adventist church is simply a movement that draws from that rich tradition. We will take a longitudinal look at Christ in the body of believers that we are invited to join.

(1st Semester)

Passing the Passion (Acts/SDA History)

When Christ was resurrected from the dead, so were the hearts of His followers. When the motley crew of core followers (aka disciples!) began to live out what Jesus had modeled there were transformed. Jesus became more real to them than when He walked the familiar ground with them. The world was turned upside down. The Spirit descended with power. A revolution began.

The invitation to continue the legacy extends to us today. The Seventh-day Adventist church is simply a movement that draws from that rich tradition. We will take a longitudinal look at Christ in the body of believers that we are invited to join.

(3rd Quarter)

Galactic Struggle (Great Controversy/SDA History)

We begin the quarter with a "step back" to look at the big picture. Where is our place in the galaxy? What are the issues at stake? Why did Christ come to earth in the first place? These questions wrap around our thoughts throughout the fourth quarter. They provide an understanding of where the cosmic family has been.

Where the universal family of God is headed? We close the quarter and year with a look at the revealed prophetic future. Where does the Seventh-day Adventist church fit into the Divine Plan? What can each one look forward to becoming in the grace of Christ? God has been good, God is good, and God will nurture His children forever into the future. This is the confidence we have in Christ.

(4th Quarter)

Religion III

We Would See Jesus (Gospel of John/Bible Doctrines)

How could One Man so impact the Human story, that Time itself is split into 2 parts? We talk in terms of before He came (BC) and after He was born (AD). That is the mystery and miracle of Jesus the Christ. We will read through the Gospel of John thoroughly. Each chapter, each story, each maxim will be looked at. Our reflections will be about the eternal import of the person of Christ. Throughout our study of the Gospel of John, we will develop Biblical roots of the doctrines of the Christian church. Christ came to tell us about Christ, not Christianity. Christianity and its doctrines are the integration of Christ's life into our own. We will take an organic approach to the doctrines by deriving them from the narrative of John itself.

(1st Semester)

Taking Jesus to the World (Revelation and the SDA Movement)

How do we put all the “pieces” of the Old Testament and New Testament together into a coherent whole? And if we can, what message emerges? What impact does the Bible have for us on how we live our lives now and in the future? We’ll take a look at the messages of Revelation (and Daniel again!) to see how understanding them more clearly led to the formation of the Seventh-day Adventist church. Then we’ll look at what that might mean for how we live our lives now.

(2nd Semester)

Religion IV

Who We Are, Who We Will Become . . . (Marriage & Family, Life Choices)

How do we become who God created us to be? What does a life lived with God's goals in mind look like? Does God's plan for me include a marriage partner, and if so, what can i do to be the kind of man or woman God want's me to be? These are some of the issues we will wrestle with in the first semester or Religion IV. We will examine Biblical principles for courtship, dating, engagement, marriage, parenting, career paths, and life destiny issues. We will through reflection, interviews, Biblical dialogue, video education, and any other means available to us seek to answer these questions. This is a critical semester for a developing young man or young woman.

(1st Semester)

What does God look like to other people? What are modern metods to tell the Gospel today? (World Views & Evangelism)

How has God spoken to us in the past? Is there a particular Biblical model that can give insight into God's character and His plan for the Universe? How is it all going to end? What might eternity be like, and how do i make the trip? Through a very hands on approach (forming your own company!), we will construct tangible set of responses to be God's PR agents to the world. God's character is on the line and all the Universe is watching.
