Step 3 First read all four accounts. i recommend reading the account in more than one version. i also DO NOT recommend reading a paraphrase (such as the Living Bible, the New Living Translation, the Clear Word, or the Message). Their thoughts will cloud your own vision. Be a thinker and risk reading it for yourself!
Step 4 Paraphrase each passage from the gospels in sections (think paragraph by paragraph). Try to not go verse by verse but rather condense largely into paragraphs. Do NOT provide original text. Make sure that each gospel account is paraphrased in sections (think paragraph by paragraph). Try to not go verse by verse but rather condense largely into paragraphs. Do NOT provide original text. Step 5 Make a listing of as many similarites between ALL FOUR accounts as possible. You must have at least 10. A similiarity is something that all FOUR have in common. For example, in the Trial and Crucifixion of Jesus ALL four say that there was a sign above Jesus head. That may seem basic and obvious to you, but that is the kind of detail you are looking for. Ask yourself, "can I find this same thing in ALL the other stories?" If so, then you have a similiarity.
Step 6 Make a listing of as many differences as possible. You must have at least 20. A difference is something that is not a similiarity! For example in the Trial and Crucifixion of Jesus ALL four say that there was a sign above Jesus head, but they each differ as to what it said. Even if 3 of the 4 accounts have a certain detail it is still a difference because not all four of the gospels recorded it.
Step 7 Next, write an analysis of each writer. Describe what kind of person they might be like. (It is obvious each writer wrote differently. What would explain the differences that you do find--the answer is in WHO they were) This may need more than one paragraph. But i'm not looking for more than a page here. Just use the details to try and get inside the mind of each writer. The similarities tell us the story. The differences tell us about the author of that account!

Next, create a cartoon strip of the complete story. This will have to meld all the accounts together with details from each!
Step 8 Finally, type it all up including a title page and be ready to present. A few will be chosen at random to share with the rest of the class their findings. Finally, burn it to a CDROM and be ready to present. A few will be chosen at random to share with the rest of the class their findings. Finally, burn it to a CDROM be ready to present.
