Week 1:
Dear Daisy,
The first week started off very productive. We were able to
split people into their groups, and assign each group a
leader. Somehow you and me got thrown in as managers, it’s
going to be a long quarter. Anyway we set out a sheet and
got people’s opinions on what the name of our company should
be. This week was full of a couple late nights, where we
stayed up in order to create this color coded calendar. And
if people follow this schedule, this project might be
possible!
Sincerely,
Noelle Maksoudian
Week 2:
Dear Noelle,
This project is starting off alright, we just need people to
get some motivation. Anyway we were able to get a theme
decided on. After we did a mini election, with ballots and
everything we decided on the name Under His Wings. Research
has started off strong, starting to gather information on
everything. We had fabrications and art come up with a plan,
and assigned each person a job. And lastly music was able to
pick what song they are wanting to do for the cover. Noelle
I think we are off to a good start, people just need to keep
working. We don’t have time for people to procrastinate.
Sincerely,
Daisy Perez
Week 3:
Dear Daisy,
Week three is officially over, and this week we took a bit
of a hit. A ton of our class left for PUC basketball
tournament, including you which made it more difficult to
organize the class. But the beginning of the week started
off okay, thanks to you and you’re amazing ideas we were
able to draw up a sketch and scan it into the computer for
our logo. We had fabrications figure out what their scale
was going to be, and slowly start sketching things on our
board. They are slowing working as research feeds them
information. We had some animals made, which looked amazing
but then sadly we realized they were too big and had to be
remade, which sucks and puts us back even farther. Music has
been brainstorming where they want to go with the cover
song. But Delila and Sharon were able to focus, since
majority of their group was gone. They busted out all the
lyrics for the original song. We are slowly falling behind
on our schedule which makes me nervous. We’ll see how this
goes.
Sincerely,
Noelle Maksoudian
Week 4:
Dear Noelle,
We are a month in, and we do not have nearly as much done as
I was hoping we would. I am not sure if we have met a single
one of our goals. But we need to stay positive, I know our
class will do what they are supposed to. Music has begun
recording the original song, they have made a lot of
progress but it takes some time since they have to learn how
to use this new system. Art has started turning in some
painting, we have split the paintings up between five
people. My goal is for those to all be complete by the end
of home leave. The documentary has been being put together
as time goes on. Amy has done a good job of getting
interviews and shots of people working. This project is
moving forward, we just all need to stay motivated.
Sincerely,
Daisy Perez
Week 5:
Dear Daisy,
This was a short week due to the fact that everyone left on
Wednesday for home leave. Although it was a short week we
still made the most of it. We have officially finished our
logo and have starting coming up with the ideas for our
t-shirts. We need to send out for those before home leave,
so we have started collecting people’s sizes and talking to
Mr. Dunn to make sure the t-shirt we purchase will work well
with the printing process. We also have started coming up
with some ideas for other merchandise that hopefully we will
be able to order things like stickers, business cards, etc.
Also we have collected information about the Day of
Atonement and have successfully created a storyboard for our
comic book. All we need to do is make our vision come alive.
I am realizing how much time we really have left, once we
return from home leave it is going to seriously be crunch
time.
Sincerely,
Noelle Maksoudian
Week 6:
Dear Noelle,
This week didn’t start off the best, I mean it started with
me and a few other getting stranded in an airport in Walla
Walla and missing another day of class. So after my week
started on Tuesday we really started cracking. Music has
finished recording everything for the cover song and have
begun to record the original. To finalize everything there
is still a lot of editing and comping that needs to be done.
But since the beginning they have been putting in extra
hours, getting the studio open whenever possible in order to
work. Almost all of the paintings came in this week. All we
are needing is the High Priest which Sherry is working very
hard in order to accomplish, and I know she will get that
done quickly. Meier has begun sketching things for the comic
book, while you and me began actually writing out the words
for the comic. We have had Bill begin to work on the
t-shirts since they arrived in the middle of this week. But
due to the fact that it is Valentine’s Day and lots of work
has been done by our SAMBA officers I don’t think we will be
able to begin printing till next week. We need to work
around Mr. Dunn’s schedule as best we can. Fabrications has
made lots of progress as the walls of the tabernacle begin
to get done, and the fence slowly makes its way up. The
furniture and animals are slowly coming along, and our
Sanctuary is becoming more and more alive. We are past
midterms which means this project is more then half way
done, I can’t believe how fast we are speeding through this
project.
Sincerely,
Daisy Perez
Week 7:
Dear Daisy,
This week is the last full week we have due to the fact that
a lot of our class will be missing the next couple Monday’s
because of school trips. There is not much to report this
week, we are just all slowly making progress. I feel like
since we have returned from home leave our entire class has
realized how close we are to the end of this project. When
you made that new calendar with the new due dates I feel
like that made everyone realize how little time we have
left. Research has done an amazing job of getting all the
information we need. They have begun creating study packets
for the class, and are always there to answer any questions
someone might have. Fabrications is just continuing with
their model, nothing really new to report there. Sherry
turned in her last painting this week, and that makes all
seven of them. The children’s story book sketches have been
finished, so now we just need them colored and throw them
into comic life to be completed. We have two weeks left, we
need to power through!
Sincerely,
Noelle Maksoudian
Week 8:
Dear Noelle,
This week started late again because of Math and Science
Workshop. That literally wiped out our entire class, I think
we had maybe six people in class on Monday. Not to mention
there was also music tour, so we lost lots of people at the
end of the week as well. But we still made some progress.
The sanctuary is looking pretty good, they have been
spending many extra hours in order to complete this project
in time. The furniture pieces are slowly coming in as well
as the walls of the tabernacle. Our group has done well in
meeting all the little details that the sanctuary has. Music
has completed their songs, both of them. So know it is
finalizing everything with Pastor Gregory and coming up with
a cover art for them. Web has done a great job of doing all
that they can. It is hard for them to do everything because
their job rests in the hands of others, because they can
only do what everyone turns into them. So they have set up
the website and have begun inputting things, but they are
really going to have to work hard in the last couple days.
Simon has been working hard on the podcast, this week we had
the script completed and Noah and Levi found the time to
record it all. We were hoping to have everything finished by
the end of this week, but it becoming clear that that goal
will not be met. I am beginning to get a little nervous, but
I have faith in our class.
Sincerely,
Daisy Perez
Week 9:
Dear Daisy,
This is the last week, everything now needs to be completed
and be completed soon I actually wish everything was
completed two weeks ago, but that’s okay we are going to
make this work. After we both returned from ski trip, we put
together a list of things that still need to be
accomplished. The music group has thankfully finished the
music video so all they are needing to do is make some minor
changes to the song and just get everything done, scores
printed, and everything uploaded and finished. The podcast
has been edited, and that has been finished as well. The
children’s story book needs to still be put into comic life,
that is the last thing we need to do in order to have that
accomplished. The documentary is looking good there is just
a few more scenes that we are wanting to add. Last week we
had begun an extra painting. One of the High Priest in his
clothes he wears only on the Day of Atonement. That got
finished this week as well. The animals are still needing to
be painted, but besides that fabrications has just been
checking to make sure everything is correct (we had to fix a
couple problems that came up) and placing things down to
have everything finalized. I know you’ve spent a long time
last weekend sewing to help the fabrications group out, and
it looks amazing. The website is really coming along. Hayden
has been able to upload the group photos and all that stuff.
Not going to lie I don’t know half of what he is doing, but
with all that coding and programing the website is really
starting to come together. I am writing this one Wednesday
morning, where we have only a day left. There are still some
last minute things that need to get accomplished. And if
everything continues to go as planned then we are going to
have successfully finished this project. It has for sure
been a journey, filled with many obstacles. But in the end
this project has shown us how to handle different types of
people, and what it will be like once we get a real job.
This has been an experience, and it has been full of some
good times and stressful times. Now let’s just cross our
fingers that everything turns out amazing.
Sincerely,
Noelle Maksoudian
